Workday Extend now includes two significant new features:
- Workday Orchestrate, which is included with every Workday Extend subscription, allows you to orchestrate Workday operations that connect with external systems. Workday Orchestrate allows developers to create orchestrations visually using an intuitive drag-and-drop user interface (UI) called Orchestration Builder, which guides them through the process of defining flows, mapping data, and performing transformations, all while reducing development time and effort. Developers can utilize Workday Orchestrate to create orchestrations for novel use cases that require extensive interactions with Workday business processes, data, experiences, and third-party services. And all orchestrations are built with data from a reliable source, ensuring that data is kept in context, secure, and private. This eliminates the danger and additional effort that comes with pulling data from a database.
- Developers can use additional data and logic components to create their own business objects and processes to store, process, and secure Workday Extend app data. These new customer-delivered objects and processes add to Workday’s data model, which is one of the company’s most distinctive features. Customers can create sophisticated data models by associating these newly created items with Workday-provided business objects and processes. New objects and processes inherit the same safe, auditable, and resilient features that consumers expect from Workday applications by leveraging the existing Workday security paradigm. As new objects and processes are produced, a public REST API is automatically developed, granting access to other developers and processes, allowing for the continued development of new features at scale.
