1. Explain SAP HCM

SAP HCM (SAP Human Capital Management) is a human resource management solution. It’s a comprehensive personnel management system. As a replacement for SAP HR, it includes all major features for personnel administration, payroll, applicant management, and employee development. SAP HCM also combines personnel management and management with multi-level application and approval processes.

2. What Is a Personnel Area and How Does It Work?

A personnel area is a corporate code subunit. It is defined as an organizational unit that represents a department inside a company and is organized around personnel administration, time management, and payroll accounting. It is represented by a four-character alphanumeric code. The personnel area code for a corporation, for example, is CORP.

3. What Does Sap Hcm Mean By Infotypes?

Infotypes are personal attributes that are controlled by a computer system. Employee data is saved in the form of Infotypes, which are represented by a four-digit numeric code that looks like this:

  • 0001 is for organizational assignment and 
  • 0000 is for actions.
  • 0002 for personal information
  • For payroll status, the code is 0003

4. What are the SAP HR sub-modules?

    The SAP-HR modules are as follows: 

  • Recruitment – Personnel 
  • Administration – Organization Management
  • Personnel Development
  • Training and Events Management
  • Compensation Management

  • Payroll
  • MSS stands for Manager Self Service.

Payroll results are stored in a PCL2 cluster and can be accessed with the pc pay result transaction.

7. What does Matchcode W stand for?

Match Code W displays a list of all personnel numbers in the selected payroll region that have had their payroll run refused due to inaccurate data. This indicates that the payroll for them has not been completed satisfactorily. If personnel data is altered during the payroll run’s correction phase, it is also included in Matchcode W.

8. In your SAP HR system, how would you track time?

  • Online by time administrators 
  • Separate timekeeping systems are used
  • Employee Self-Service (ESS) and Cross-Application Time Sheet (CATS)
